watching

I've watched season five episode one 4 times now.  it's a masterpiece.  if you haven't broad city-ed, it's time.  you don't even need to catch up - you can jump right in.  this is their last season, and your last chance to feel absolutely millennial (well, maybe not your last).  the show is a love-note to nyc, an ode to instagram and a sonnet for snark.

decorating

I stumbled on these pretty butterfly embroidered curtains over at anthro last night (who has so much good stuff right now btw - working on a post later in the week highlighting) and they're just the thing I need for a little girl's room I'm working on.  zoom in and check out those colors.  the curtains are the perfect pop of crisp white I need against a green wall, and I know they'll be loved - the detail is amazing!  you know what it reminds me off?  those great allyson Reynold's moth paintings, most notably in Anna spiros' living room.

reading

oh girl, you gotta order this book right now and then read the whole thing.  tad brought it to me after happening upon it in a bookstore in mexico, knowing full well that it would be a gospel hymnal in my little church of 'what is life'.

a collection of thoughts - not really poetry or prose, but really tapped in stream-of-consciouness -- mixes with simple illustrations in the book, and it's so very lovely, and poignant and inspiring.  I devoured it cover to cover during a LGA --> RDU flight and about halfway through started ugly crying.  crying!  in public!  in coach!  the kid beside me was like what the whole fuck is wrong with this lady??  alas, it wasn't SARS (remember when it was just snakes and SARS on planes, and not peacocks and terrorists?) but it was that moving.  you think it's going to be a story of a breakup (which would be enough -  we can all relate), but it's so much more - it's about finding yourself, your family, your people, and your place.

wearing

you're going to think I've lost my damn mind, but I splurged on this bathrobe. BECAUSE: I needed a robe desperately - I've been rocking the same fleecy white Victoria's Secret ankle length robe for so long it's more 'natural' colored and I feel about as sexy as a dirty fat polar bear. and this robe features dogs getting married. thank you - next.

saving

how about this pink lady over at world market for $130?  I tell you, I am finding all the finds right now.  with several decorating jobs in the works, I'm constantly combing, and the getting has been good lately.  working on a post for later in the week with some gems.  in the meantime, it's never too late to have a pink juju hat.  seriously, if you think they're tired, try again, but there's nothing like a little feathery goodness to bring texture to a room.

styling

I'm getting my closet ready for it's closeup on thursday.  we're shooting the room for the California closets spring mag (which is actually really good).  the rest of the kondo is catching up (finally!  patience!  ugh!), but the kloset is LIT.  and by LIT I mean DONE.  the Schumacher wallpaper went up (thank you to the democratic republic of my IG followers for voting on white vs black ceiling), the lights are in, the sisal rug is on point, and Alex is doing a final edit and styling ma clothes today!  can't wait to show you the amazing after.

Cant wait to read more about the closet closeup! I would love to see how you do the kondo-kraze, I have a feeling it’ll speak to me more than a lot of the other interpretations I’ve seen. And the advice from Alex, looking forward to seeing how she helps you (and if there are any applicable tips for the rest of us!)
