i can't stand it when they don't look good

buenos tardes young people.

i am off today, so i’m sitting in a little french pastry shop in our hood – computing.

its very frou frou here – think WASP on mountain dew. or rather, on triple espressos.

so, i hear the couple sitting next to me say hi to a friend who comes in. he tells them he’s going to the beach tomorrow – and that he has a house there.
they say OH HOW LOVELY.
he says, yes, i rent it.
HOW MUCH DARLING?
$6500 a week, but I’d do it less for yal, of course.
WELL I WISH WE’D KNOWN! WHAT STREET IS IT ON?
he tells them he’ll send them info about it and some pics.
OH DO – i can’t stand it when they don’t look good. i have to take my own stuff to cover things up. you know, redecorate, and i HATE that.
him: oh… it looks GOOOOD. don’t worry.
ok bye.

in closing, i hope everyone has a stellar long holiday weekend. i am outtie in just a few, and will be scarce until next week.

"Date 1944. Sorority sisters at the University of Texas." by sdasfvrce in OldSchoolCoolOn East Lake Shore Drive, this co-op project combined 2 separate units last updated in the '60s into 1 lavish apartment with a gut-remodel, relocating the kitchen to the front of the apartment overlooking the lake. Interior by Summer Thornton Design
ter bath, Thornton juxtaposed diagonal swaths of Calacatta Monet marble with Breccia stone to distract from the room’s asymmetrical layout while providing a unique take on tradition, highlighted by the Waterworks fixtures and a freestanding tub by Ann Sacks. The oak paneling was detailed with black molding, a reference to the hand-painted ceiling in the living room.
