this bedroom by megan rice yager, featured in trad home has a million things right about it, but let’s discuss the top ten (or eleven things) you can do to get this look.

1: THAT SCREEN.  argh!  it’s amazing and old and dramatic.  love it layered behind the headboard for extra depth

2: silk drapes with light blue edge – picks up on bedding and gorgeous blue in screen

3: velvet slipcovered headboard – isn’t too perfect or fussy and puts the room at ease

4: an austere fringe throw at the end of the bed keeps the fancy pants on

5: this patinaed regency style faux bamboo piece adds to the mix and fits the room perfectly with the tufting

6: euro shams with custom monograms simultaneously read cheeky and high-end

7: shams in mix and match florals accent the color palette and look fresh and cozy

8: banded roman shade to match drapes balances out the room

9: statement pagoda lamp with fabric covered shade add another special moment and adds to the collected feel

10: red asian nightstands throw the color scheme off just the right amount and are both functional and chic

11: the classic striped rug keeps the room feeling casual and inviting

*: extra points for an orange fluffy cat

"Date 1944. Sorority sisters at the University of Texas." by sdasfvrce in OldSchoolCoolOn East Lake Shore Drive, this co-op project combined 2 separate units last updated in the '60s into 1 lavish apartment with a gut-remodel, relocating the kitchen to the front of the apartment overlooking the lake. Interior by Summer Thornton Design
ter bath, Thornton juxtaposed diagonal swaths of Calacatta Monet marble with Breccia stone to distract from the room’s asymmetrical layout while providing a unique take on tradition, highlighted by the Waterworks fixtures and a freestanding tub by Ann Sacks. The oak paneling was detailed with black molding, a reference to the hand-painted ceiling in the living room.
