reporting from around the places

1 – our very first First Friday event was a huge success – thanks everyone for coming out!  i think we’ll plan to be on board every month with dranks, food trucks, and of course, lots of affordable art.

2 – also in raleigh news, my good friend lauren opened a children’s store progeny, and to kick it off, she’s offering these 3 goodies for a lucky reader.  we all know the little people scare me to death, but maybe one would be more approachable in this cute sunuva embroidered dress, mini rodini bathing suit and twine & twig necklace.  to enter, just follow @progenyshoppe on insta, and tag a friend who would also dig the hip and little style lauren is slanging in raleigh, and online.  lauren’s got the perfect mix of southern swagger with a dash of west coast chic, and her picks for kids are perfectly curated and priced on-point.  (how cute are these – did you birth an adventurer?)

3 – in chapel hill yesterday, i installed the first layer in a little boy’s cute bedroom.

4 – my friend kinsey with mignonne gavigan let me know about two trunk shows this week to share with yal – dallas tonight, and houston on thursday.  MG creates these crazy eclectic accessories that would take any outfit to the next level.  i’d say you could live in black h&m dresses until kingdom come if you invest in a couple of these gorgeous bits.  if you’re in texas, and want to hit up the show, email kinsey@mignonnegavigan.com and tell her you’re fancy, so put you on the list.

what else is going on in raleigh?  i’d love to post once a week with some happenings for us local birds to add to our calendar.  i’m going to start highlighting some of my favorite places in the capital city here on the blog soon. lemme know what’s shaking, and i’ll get it in.

On East Lake Shore Drive, this co-op project combined 2 separate units last updated in the '60s into 1 lavish apartment with a gut-remodel, relocating the kitchen to the front of the apartment overlooking the lake. Interior by Summer Thornton Designter bath, Thornton juxtaposed diagonal swaths of Calacatta Monet marble with Breccia stone to distract from the room’s asymmetrical layout while providing a unique take on tradition, highlighted by the Waterworks fixtures and a freestanding tub by Ann Sacks. The oak paneling was detailed with black molding, a reference to the hand-painted ceiling in the living room.
