easy outfit

My Style, Uncategorized / August 25, 2014

i wore this a couple of weeks ago for a cocktail party at the shop.

the silk top is roberta freymann – a splurge from our trunk show back in the spring. i just found out we’re hosting another 10/27 at the store, and we’ll have some sneak peaks coming up for you, especially the amazing pieces from the higher end line (save the date!). roberta’s pieces are hard to shop online – you really have to go to one of her NY stores, or attend a trunk show to really get the vibe of this amazing line.

i’m not typically a bib necklace under a collar kinda girl, but these two seemed to work together. the necklace is from furbish.

the jeans are jcrew’s toothpick black denim, and i own them in three colors. even when the seam spilt in the butt (twice) on the grey ones, i refuse to accept defeat and took them to tailor.

the shoes are last season elizabeth and james from ASOS, so no longer available, but there are some similar wood platforms that i think would do the trick just as well here, here and here
.

the clutch is from furbish, and a new fave of mine. shibori goes with everything, and you can’t beat a little two-toned tassel action.
polka dot sunglasses are target.

"Date 1944. Sorority sisters at the University of Texas." by sdasfvrce in OldSchoolCoolOn East Lake Shore Drive, this co-op project combined 2 separate units last updated in the '60s into 1 lavish apartment with a gut-remodel, relocating the kitchen to the front of the apartment overlooking the lake. Interior by Summer Thornton Design
ter bath, Thornton juxtaposed diagonal swaths of Calacatta Monet marble with Breccia stone to distract from the room’s asymmetrical layout while providing a unique take on tradition, highlighted by the Waterworks fixtures and a freestanding tub by Ann Sacks. The oak paneling was detailed with black molding, a reference to the hand-painted ceiling in the living room.
