fave new discovery

Uncategorized / May 9, 2017

i was absolutely delighted, and i mean rull excited, to discover brannon addison’s, of happy cactus design, tiny, intricate embroidered artwork.

one of my favorite parts of this job is finding new artists, and where i was once only able to blog about them to direct readers their way, now i get to curate pieces to carry at furbish, all the while still introducing new artists to my readers and customers.

brannon did an exclusive release of 20 pieces for today’s pop-up shop (launching at 11am). the tiniest eye candy, hand-embroidered in bright colors with brilliant detail — i just love how elevated they feel custom matted and framed.  there are several little blue and white vases with bright blooms, as well as intricate multi-colored botanical studies.

all of her embroidery work is freehand, and she finds beauty in the unknown of how a piece will turn out. typically her pieces are a bit smaller, but for the sale, we’re featuring 7 – 9″ square frames so you can really dig into the layers and the energy of her work.

i think these would make the sweetest mother’s day gift, and i like the idea of adding pieces to your collection that are more mixed media.  it certainly adds interest and dimension to a collection.  i was thrilled to learn that house beautiful and vogue have also discovered this talented colorado artist, and featured her work recently!

shop for your lovely little piece today at 11am EST here and you can check out brannon’s instagram feed for more gorgeous images of her process, inspiration and finished pieces.
