this valentine’s day i’ll be in raleigh, and so will my valentine – so cupid should have no trouble finding us.

i’m not so much in need of presents this year – i’m grateful to be in relationship that is for the most part highly-functioning, and feels safe and loving and fun. in the past, i probably needed to pile presents on top of my poor little black heart because it was too afraid of the light of day, and it had no idea really how to love without going by some sort of predetermined playbook (can i link that on rewardstyle??  let’s find it).

but also presents. my mom was the very best at a themed holiday gift – surely i got it from her, because I do love a good v-day roundup.  i’ll buy a heart item any time of year, and my eye always ends up on the pink thing in the room.  so lemme love on yal a little with some of my fave finds for the hopeless romantic shopper in all of us. treat yourself, or spread some loving on a friend who needs to know there’s a cupid who cares out there.

and just a few footnotes

2 – love a clutch like this because you look terribly chic carrying it, but it’s so pretty to display at home – i’d leave this girl out to be admired.

5 – i’ve learned in nyc, especially when it’s cold AF, there aren’t many ways to personalize your style when you’re all bundled up.  a hat (and coat) are really the two best options to flex, and this pink hat would surely turn heads.

8 – gucci cat needlepoint.  save up

12 – these coasters feel so tulum meets the best of brightly colored Australian design (think Anna Spiro) meets lily pulitizer beach house chic.

15 – great new designs from diptyque – i popped in the west village story yesterday and they smell just a great as they look.  I think my fave is the roses centafolia

17 – have you discovered dora larsen’s lingerie?  i’m not much of an underthangs kinda girl, but i’d like to think i could be?

20 – make it valentine’s day errday in your bathroom.  all the heart eye emojis for this little vintage persian

23- i know it’s #oldnews but i just revisited alexa chung’s book and felt plenty inspired.  go check it out again.

On East Lake Shore Drive, this co-op project combined 2 separate units last updated in the '60s into 1 lavish apartment with a gut-remodel, relocating the kitchen to the front of the apartment overlooking the lake.  Interior by Summer Thornton Designter bath, Thornton juxtaposed diagonal swaths of Calacatta Monet marble with Breccia stone to distract from the room’s asymmetrical layout while providing a unique take on tradition, highlighted by the Waterworks fixtures and a freestanding tub by Ann Sacks. The oak paneling was detailed with black molding, a reference to the hand-painted ceiling in the living room.
