watching
i've been on planes for about 29384 hours lately, so movies have been watched. thank goodness i did sleep some on recent flights (I usually don't!), but there was still plenty of time for trying new flicks. i did winnie the pooh (so freaking cute and wwan gives me all the feels), the favourite (great! didn't see that twist coming, eek), a bollywood film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (fascinating. it's like nsync meets a soap opera meets the OC) and 27 dresses, just because.
styling
this thursday, we're featuring really attractive tabletop linens and decor from south african retailer ngala trading co. their safari-chic prints are perfect for spring soirées, and i can't wait to show you the table i'm styling with their insta-worthy prints later this week. think cheetahs dashing across table runners, silk leopard pillows and oodles of luxe glass African beads. catch the pop-up on furbish at 12pm est on 3/21

reading
my travel guru for the jaipur trip, grant gibson, recommended a couple of books to get us india inspired - and this one was such a fun read. east of the sun is a whirlwind saga of three english women who have been swept across the world to come of age in a turbulent era in india. ghandi is encouraging the poor to rise against British rule - and these young women have been tasked with finding husbands, making a life for themselves and impossibly pleasing domineering parents who remain in england, all their hopes pinned on their daughters in this new world. the other great read was holy cow: an indian adventure - i found it really helpful for setting expectations heading into my trip (although india will exceed any possible expectation you could ever have - it's that magical!)
wearing
i picked up these raquel allegra easy pants for my trip - and they were such a good call. i flew in them from paris to india - perfect for a long flight, and wore them on our sight-seeing days around jaipur and agra. lightweight and easy breezy, perfect for packing light and looking cool. i snagged mine at vermillion here in raleigh, but there are several prints available online. the fanny pack that we're now calling a 'cross-body' bag because, well, fanny pack is hard to accept, was a smart move. kept all my things tucked in tight for crowded streets where personal space is a non-thing (monekys will steal things from you on the street!), plus plenty of storage for phone, moneys and all the pills i took to not get sick but get sick.

working (out)
you've probably seen on IG that i've been working on a very fun project here in raleigh -- a megaformer studio called mega (because clever!) that's opening this weekend! i've worked with alicia belle, the rambunctious red-headed founder on the brand from the get-go. i'm a huge fan of her, and a devotee of the work out. i've mega-ed in NYC and DC, and couldn't contain myself when she told me she was bringing a new workout to town. Alicia + the megas is a recipe for a rowdy workout: intense, and hard, but addictive and effective. this has been such a rad new challenge for me and my team - designing the studio, and managing mega's IG account, and i'm pumped over our progress!
decorating
after looking at a white wall for months, i got a bee in my bonnet this weekend and finally hung some artwork. it's funny how the cobbler has no shoes sometimes - i hung the art and felt pretty tickled with myself, sent some photos over to nick, and magically, he took my gallery wall from boxed in bloggery vibes to salon-style curated chic. he simple suggested not crowding the mirror with a third row of art, and spreading out rather than up, and voila! having this wall hung makes SUCH a difference already. i'm on the slowboat to china decorating this place, but when the breeze blows, i can catch a little wind in my sails. the huge mirror is from sonder living, and it's even lovelier in person. the tennis ball and ball of dog really complete the look, i think.
