watching
my night time routine has two very different iterations - one: I'm with tad, where ever we may be, and we usually watch some tv in bed, then both may read an nyt article on our phones, and then we go to sleep together. i think that's important, and something I haven't done before - falling asleep with your partner. it's a really nice way to feel connected. but, when we're apart, I'm a totally different creature. I usually work on my laptop until pretty late - 12, or 1am, hen I read a real book, with pages, for about 10 minutes and fall asleep. in a wild turn of events, I started the assassination of Versace when I was in raleigh alone last week, and I was hooked after the first episode. I actually binged a bit at bedtime, all by myself. which all of this is to say: if I switched up my routine for it, it's good.
designing
my murano glassware cup that I only have 3 of now because I broke one this weekend runneth over right now with decorating projects. for a good while, about two years, I didn't really take on any new design work because, just life? design isn't easy - you can't phone it in, I've never found a formula that works for me to repeat, and you have to really do good work for people when a lot of money, and their home, and very personal space is on the line. it's not a job for the faint of heart, and I realize more and more as I get older. I have to be in the right place to take on jobs, and actually do good work, and I'm feeling myself just a bit at the moment. I'm being brave - it's sometimes feels easy to play it safe on projects, because without risk, there's less liability. but this amazing Brazilian mural moment that was installed in a client's new modern concrete home last week is giving. me. life! I am so took the chance and did it.

it's been a bit since furbish did a new rug drop - so I'm excited to share a fresh batch of very pretty vintage throw rugs that I added to the site today. these guys are smaller - around 3' - 5' because so many people have been requesting them for their bathrooms! I think it's a great idea - I have them in all of mine. I cannot sing their praises enough: it doesn't matter if they get wet, if you spill, if the dog sheds, anything. these vintage Persians are so resilient. if you have 99 problems and care not for a rug to be one, this is 100% your most practical, durable and aesthetically pleasing choice. shop the newest arrivals here
shopping
i think i want to wear skirts all spring. this is my official declaration. and the good news is, all the cute ones i bought last year are still legit, and there are so many good ones popping up, like this one from h&mthis one from h&m (who's kinda killing it btw with new arrivals right now). I want to wear them with t-shirts, and sneakers and I don't want to hear another word about it.

hanging
i had a little party at kondo last week, and i tell you what. there is not a single thing like a party to get that hammer and nails out. i got more hung here in one day than I have in 4 months. including my skateboard deck collection. for some reason i thought my inner Avril Lavigne was not going to show up in my new home, but she said skater boi bye and together we hung my boards. i have to say, i feel happy about this. there's only so much classiness this clemmons girl can cultivate at a time.
wanting
how good is this rug by Scottish designer wendy morrison? it caught my eye on pinterest, so i went exploring, to learn that Wendy's practically a youngin, and she's creating the most amazing rugs in her signature style of bold, chinoiserie-inspired designs that are sold throughout the world. i can't get over the leopard, but also gorgeous this blue floral. trying to build up my bravery to use it next in a design project!

wearing
on a construction site, but not afraid to rock a white converse apparently. what we're really here to talk about is this bag - so many people message about it on IG. it's by think royln - the wingman bag, and it's such a great size. I've been schlepping my laptop, paint deck, tape measurers and other designer accoutrements around town in it. I've also been using it as my airplane bag because it's big enough to shove the extra shit in that makes a carry-on not carry-unable any more (like your curling iron). there are several patterns that are very good-looking - take a look see.
