top ten with artist Caroline Boykin

Furbish / April 28, 2019

I have to say, I think raleigh artist Caroline Boykin is really onto something.  she creates dimensional collages by applying handmade porcelain flowers to canvases coated in lacquer-y resin.  the result is this sweet southern charm power-clashing like crazy with bold bright modern strokes that shine when the light catches them.

I just love them, and I’m seriously considering a set where I could hang a large one.

this tuesday, we’re releasing 25 original works she created exclusively for furbish.  there are two sizes: 8″ x 8″, and 12″ x 12″, and prices are $450 and $550.  Jump online at 12pm est on this tuesday to cruise for a piece to add to your collection.  I think these are really cool, and would make such a special Mother’s Day gift.

a little bit more about Caroline, and you can check out more about her and her work on IG

"Date 1944. Sorority sisters at the University of Texas." by sdasfvrce in OldSchoolCoolOn East Lake Shore Drive, this co-op project combined 2 separate units last updated in the '60s into 1 lavish apartment with a gut-remodel, relocating the kitchen to the front of the apartment overlooking the lake. Interior by Summer Thornton Design
ter bath, Thornton juxtaposed diagonal swaths of Calacatta Monet marble with Breccia stone to distract from the room’s asymmetrical layout while providing a unique take on tradition, highlighted by the Waterworks fixtures and a freestanding tub by Ann Sacks. The oak paneling was detailed with black molding, a reference to the hand-painted ceiling in the living room.
