TGIAF folks. almost as in so close. and tomorrow is also my birthday! what a time.
we’re in san fran for a celebratory long weekend – it’s a little chilly and rainy here, and I think that’s just fine. great for sleeping, which I’m a big fan of. i was most looking forward to dinner last nite at atelier crenn, and it did not disappoint. one dish tasted like the best day of a summer beach vacation when you were little – when the waves were bigger than you and scary exciting, and you bathing suit was full of sand, your nose was as pink as could be, and tiny sand crabs scurried when the tide went out and your face was full of seawater because your boogie boarding was epic. all that, from one bite.
in other news, today furbish launched all of my favorite finds from jaipur – check that out here, and i put together a cute little travel guide for who what wear and how if you are planning to visit jaipur. if you’re interested, but a little overwhelmed by the thought of it, i highly recommend traveling with SF decorator grant gibson. grant offers perfectly planned trips to exotic locales, like jaipur – where he arranges for secret shopping, can’t miss meals, perfectly appointed guesthouses, and instagrammable daily adventures. he’s got a trip coming up to morocco, and another to jaipur in the spring – if that’s your thing, i’d give him a shout to find out more!
if you need a little click-around cruise, here are some links worth taking for a spin
i splurged on this dress for my birthday. i wore it last night and i might wear it again tomorrow because it makes me feel like celine dion, then and now.
i wore it with these shoes because i wear everything with these shoes. plus they’re 50% off – that’s right. get some.
i followed annie schletchter on instagram and dog-eared about every other post. #inspo
i’ve started percolating ideas of a bathroom reno at kondo in my brain. just a tiny seedling of a thought. but these sconces fertilized it a bit today. they come in tons of colors. i want to bite them.
i wandered into the serena and lily store on sacramento today because it’s always good to peep their stuff in person. and i have to say, 100% of the time my expectations, which were high to start with, are exceeded. their furniture looks great in person. the nightstands are always the right dimensions. the chairs are comfy and well-made (i think it’s all lee industries, so that’s legit), i sat in this one and enjoyed it, and the lighting shines bright in real life too. this lamp was a surprise – it’s very chic IRL, the shade is the perfect shape.
i enjoy david net’s styling sensibilities very much. i really dug his home tour on OKL, #oldnews, but new to me.
and I’m sure you guys have all read about anna delvey and her nyc shenanigans — i’m just fascinated. isn’t it fun to think that even in 2019 people can still pull off ridiculous identity capers like her? well, pull off for a little while, at least. major bummer for her friend in morocco who had to foot her $60K bill, and last week the court ruled too bad for her, she’s not on the IOU list.
enjoy your weekend. release a balloon full of wishes for me. pet a dog, drink something made from a non-dairy milk, and get ready because WINTER IS HERE sunday night!
