Serena and Lily Sale Picks

get a seaside vibe

Decorating, Shopping / May 23, 2019

i’ve always had serena & lily in my back pocket as a great resource for an easy-going beach vibe, but i’m finding recently i’m going to them for more than just beach house buys. i’m spec’ing a sofa for a cool modern house in pittsboro, and a pair of swivel chairs for a family room here in raleigh. we don’t have a store here, so i hadn’t seen all the goods in person, so i lucked out there was an S&L store on our street in San Fran. i got to oogle and eye all the pieces i’d been planning to use, and i found a bunch more that will fit the bill for upcoming projects.

their chairs are really well proportioned, as are the nightstands. the lighting is really attractive in person, with a few lamps looking way more expensive than they are.

their big memorial day sale started today, so if you’ve had your eye on something, get it while the gettings particularly great.  the entire site is 20% off.  here are the whosits and whatsits that i think are home runs.

On East Lake Shore Drive, this co-op project combined 2 separate units last updated in the '60s into 1 lavish apartment with a gut-remodel, relocating the kitchen to the front of the apartment overlooking the lake. Interior by Summer Thornton Designter bath, Thornton juxtaposed diagonal swaths of Calacatta Monet marble with Breccia stone to distract from the room’s asymmetrical layout while providing a unique take on tradition, highlighted by the Waterworks fixtures and a freestanding tub by Ann Sacks. The oak paneling was detailed with black molding, a reference to the hand-painted ceiling in the living room.
