what i’m wearing this summer

My Style, Shopping / June 21, 2019

summer is here and i’m sorting through my wardrobe for staples that can travel with me to all the places.  it’s 10435 degrees in NC and swampy as a soggy cheese sandwich.  i’m headed to aspen on monday where it’s sunny and seasonably 70 degrees, and NYC will be a teeming toaster oven when i get there in a few weeks  (remember sonja’s toaster oven?).  point being.  i need air to flow so thighs can move freely in concordance with each other, i need easy-to-pack pieces and i want to look like i’m a creative who contributes to their 401K.  you know, that person.  so here’s what i’ll be sporting this summer.

graphic tee / gingham midi skirt / golden goose superstar

cropped blouse / high-waist jean / strappy platform sandal

cropped tank / knit midi skirt / platform oxford

chunky knit tank / white jean / raffia mules

graphic tee / midi skirt / platform converse

scoop-neck bodysuit / mel jeans / birkenstocks

On East Lake Shore Drive, this co-op project combined 2 separate units last updated in the '60s into 1 lavish apartment with a gut-remodel, relocating the kitchen to the front of the apartment overlooking the lake. Interior by Summer Thornton Designter bath, Thornton juxtaposed diagonal swaths of Calacatta Monet marble with Breccia stone to distract from the room’s asymmetrical layout while providing a unique take on tradition, highlighted by the Waterworks fixtures and a freestanding tub by Ann Sacks. The oak paneling was detailed with black molding, a reference to the hand-painted ceiling in the living room.
