selling
a new week and a new batch of rugs - we've dropped 12 fresh vintage rugs, and this one may or may not be at my kondo right now (spoiler - it's there). look at these neon colors! every once in a while we get a batch with some crazy vibrant neons, and every time I instinctively hoard a few until I get over myself and move on. this one is available online, and I do feel able to part with it, but I may require monthly updates on its new home. I'm attached, ok?
watching
well if you've had a drink, a dinner or basically just stood next to me on the subway in the last 4 days, I've probably asked you if you're watching euphoria. I just finished it last week, and rarely do I get so sucked into a show - this one was a doozy. I found myself watching tv in the middle of the day to get a quick episode in, which I don' think I've ever done? it's that mesmerizing. I was intrigued after reading an article in the NYT about one of the cast members, Hunter Schafer - she's actually from Raleigh! the show is a coming-of-age in modern-day LA and while it's focused on the lives of a high-school crew of friends, it's absolutely spell-binding in terms of character development, plot twists, costumes and makeup and really stellar acting. I think it's important to watch - but maybe not for your actual high-schoolers. sex, drugs and every kind of angst are aplenty.

celebrating
it was my number 1 baby dog's birthday this week. rowdy turned 11! can yal remember when I got him? he's been a blog star since day one. remember I researched every dog breed I could read about and ended up with the conclusion that standard schnauzer are a fool-proof great dog? well, survey says I was right. rowdy is a gentleman, a scholar, an athlete, a friend and an extremely patient big brother to the world's dumbest (and cutest) little bro. he's my best friend, and I'm so glad he joined my family 11 years ago. he's a happy pup, and doing great. I absolutely think that getting major (who's 6 years younger) has kept him relatively young and active.
new rugs that are rad

designing
I've never been busier with decorating - not really intentionally, but interestingly enough, all of my favorite clients from raleigh happened to buy second homes or a move to a new home all at once and now we're back at it again. which is great, for me as well as them, because we know how to work together, and we both know what we like now. I'm having a lot of fun trying furniture and lighting that I've only pinned but never purchased. case in point: these colored ghost stools. I'm doing a mix of colors at a long kitchen island, and I can't wait to see them in action together

loving
just a few things that were keeping me going while I was in raleigh - 1) the cutest package I got in the mail from artist Laura Deems, that included this fancy-fance silk drawstring bag for delicate little things (I used it to pack underwear and bras!) an 2) these marshmallow moon Oreos. i keep them in the fridge and allot one per night, unless I've been particularly good at adulting (meaning I worked out, and didn't eat mcdonalds for breakfast), then I have two. it's the little things folks.
wearing
it's lovely and perfect in nyc right now. today was 83 and sunny, and barely any humidity. I flounced around in this madewell dress - it's great for cruising around the city window-shopping, people-watching and dog-spotting. so freaking comfy, and fairly flattering. it's a thicker cotton, so it looks nice, and doesn't feel like it's a bargain (it is though!).
unfortunately the green is sold out (I got it earlier this summer), but there's a mustard color still available, and there are some similar pieces from the same fabric that are pretty cute.

decorating
we're starting to collect a few things for the nyc apartment. slowly but surely we're making it our own. when we inherited it from a friend, we lived with his stuff for several months. it's tough to know exactly what you want, when you're just learning how a place lives. we did find a ligne roset red sectional at the thrift store in aspen and had it shipped. it's pretty freaking rad, and I just ordered two of these Paloma contreas for Williams Sonoma tiger pillows to cozy it up.
