MILITANTLY PUFFY

My Style / February 12, 2020

This is one of my favorite sweaters -- I had a ton of DMs yesterday on the instagrammer asking about it, so let's discuss.  I just happened upon a photoshoot in my house while I was wearing it, how bout that?

First, This is one of my favorite sweaters. It was a little splurgey, but now at over 30% off, it seems more achievable. Second, this isn't going to win me the Nobel Peace Price (But Rush Limbaugh did get a Presidential medal, so c'est possible), but I find any puffy sleeve is much better all around with hair in a ponytail. Loose hair competing with a big sleeve is like sitting middle in the back of a taxi, you're just constantly trying to get things in place.

My screen is also inquired about on the often - it's from The Inside. They offer several really good simple upholstered pieces - headboards, chairs, ottomans and several styles of screens. You can pick from over 100 fabrics to customize your piece. My bed is from The Inside also - I'm a big fan.

On East Lake Shore Drive, this co-op project combined 2 separate units last updated in the '60s into 1 lavish apartment with a gut-remodel, relocating the kitchen to the front of the apartment overlooking the lake. Interior by Summer Thornton Designter bath, Thornton juxtaposed diagonal swaths of Calacatta Monet marble with Breccia stone to distract from the room’s asymmetrical layout while providing a unique take on tradition, highlighted by the Waterworks fixtures and a freestanding tub by Ann Sacks. The oak paneling was detailed with black molding, a reference to the hand-painted ceiling in the living room.
