COOKING
Tad is an exceptional cook so my kitchen skills aren't called upon frequently, and my cookbooks are really just for color these days. However, my go-to when I need a little guidance has always been 'The New Best Recipe' from Cooks Illustrated. I used to love their simple magazine, way back in the days when Martha was teaching me how to craft and cook in the check-out aisle at the grocery. Anywho, in the cookbook you can find a fairly simple and always delicious basic recipe for just about anything, from mac n' cheese to meatloaf.
WATCHING
We just finished Hollywood, which I thought was pretty good b/c everything Ryan Murphy does is pretty good, and without a new show on deck yet, the only real staple left in our viewing repertoire is the Patriot Act. Political comedy is tricky for me - but Hasan Minhaj, previously of the Daily Show, makes it happen. He's super-sharp, and comes with a unique point of view on all of America's current debacles. An Indian-American, Minhaj is able to shed some cultural sensitivity that's new to me on each subject, often in a very funny self-deprecating style. Check it - it's good.

DESIGNING
I'm stoked over these barstools a client just ordered for a new clean white kitchen. The Schumacher dragon fabric (love the pink!) paired with polished nickel base is going to be girly modern vibes without going too Kardashian, fingers crossed. Schumacher has some really great stuff in their WSHome collab - I've used several things for projects - and lots on sale right now!
SELLING
How about these pretty new ikat and suzani pillows just in at Furbish this week? Designed to mix and match with our current velvet collection, I've got a few more styles in the works that will all jive together just right. My intention is to offer that just-right mix of prints, solids, textures and time periods that no matter how you combo them, it's a no fail recipe. My fave of the new drops are this Marigold Suzani Pillow (those colors!!) and a bright raspberry fuchsia ikat that's generously sized for a perfect euro sham.

DECORATING
I'm tickled with this ottoman being finished up at the upholster this week. It's for a poolhouse in Raleigh we're working on. I based the room design around the colors in a vintage striped kilim I was crushing hard on, and made the rug a centerpiece in the space by turning it into an oversize ottoman. These rugs can take a beating, never really show stains and can get wet wtihout mold or mildew. I can't wait to install later this month!
FOLLOWING
Formally at Man Repeller, Crystal Anderson is a a new find for me (probably b/c I am also no longer with Man Repeller due to the fact I was never with Man Repeller - I didn't get it). Crystals' IG profile touts she's now the Co-founder and Head of Production at a A Very Good Job - which I dug into last night and was pleased as could be to find her recent interview with my fave Tik-Toker Tabitha Brown. More on that later, but what's notable today is Crystal is #stylegoaltimesonemilliom. Check out her IG for the raddest outfits and the kookiest, certifiably chic confidence and swaggiest swag that I've seen in a very long time.

SHOPPING
I'm on the hunt for a white bodysuit. I don't think we've talked about this, have we? Getting dressed more mornings than not, I find myself thinking, I would totally put on a white t-shirt bodysuit of some sort right now and my day would be infinitely more comfortable, stylish, productive and I'd worry less about how I looked and more about other things of equal unimportance. The problem is, I found the one I'd conjured up in my daydreams - it's this one by Alix (too expensive, but it was literally manufactured in a daydream factory, that can't be cheap), but it's sold out everywhere I look, and I just can't find the equivalent. Woe, I know.
