floral (adj.). 1640s, "pertaining to Flora," from French floral (16c.), from Latin floralis "pertaining to Flora; of flowers" (see flora). Meaning "pertaining to flowers" in English is from 1753. Related: Florally.
For my 9th birthday, my parents took me to Disneyworld, We stayed at the Polynesian Resort where I floated on my back in the lagoon until my nose blistered pink. On the morning of my birth, after teasing my bangs and slouching my socks, we boarded the monorail to attend a celebratory breakfast hosted by Mickey and Minnie Mouse at the Grand Floridian Hotel. It was all so much I puked on my floral Ocean Pacific t-shirt at the table. Despite the upset, I remember that morning with a vivid fond nostalgia.
This dress is by Milly (not a mouse), and because it gave me Grand Floridian feelings, I bought it.

Two things of notation: the dress is on sale, and the floral fabric in the background - you guessed it - it's a favorite Furbish print we're bringing back from the way-back archive in a new batch of pillows that are gonna be theme-park sized sensational. Gimme one week on that, but for now: a roundup of some more Grand Floridian florals that don't make me want to puke.
