"FASHION IS THE ARMOR TO SURVIVE THE REALITY OF EVERYDAY LIFE"
-BILL CUNNINGHAM
My relationship with Ulla Johnson has ruffled and waned. I'm back on an upswing, because I think I understand our relationship now - I can do a little prairie but I've got to punch it up, or else I end up feeling like I could float away on a tiered conestoga wagon situation. I am decidedly not a bohemian when it comes to dressing - I have tried to wear the pioneering pieces time and time again and failed like an ill-styled housewife at the reunion. Although I simply can't avoid it with decorating - I need all the textiles, embroidered details, neons pops and crazy color combos - on my person: it always makes me unsettled. Unless, I can find a way to undo the uncomfortable by embracing the kooky scale of her pieces and the very exciting plays on pattern.
I am definitely drawn to Ulla's aesthetic. Her IG gives me aspirational shivers regularly, and I'm always quick to check out the new arrivals, and instinctively add to cart.

Here's a round-up of a some Ulla pieces that are ulla-good to me (not a thing). Lots of stuff on sale! and a few picks from the up-coming season. I urge you to ford the river, buy the oxen, and travel the Oregon trail in style.
You can find my green blousey-blouse here, the skirt is Proezena Schouler is and my shoes are Gucci.
