F L I N G S for the W E E K E N D

Flings / November 7, 2020

PILING

A wallet and a phone was really challenging for me, so add in a mask, and I'm having a tough time keeping up with my things. It sure helps that I'm not just the president of Hair Club for Men, I’m also a client! Meaning: Furbish has set up the hook-up on masks for me -- the one needing multiple piles in all the places = in the car, closet, a few in every bag, and then I put a stash for me in Tad's car too. We just added a fun new set with neon embroidery that I'm extra-into.

CREATING

My team at Kilt Creative has been working with a local brand - Voda - on a really fun holiday campaign "the twelve babes of the holidays'. What started as a little bit of a side hustle has turned into a full blown big girl biz, and I'm sparking a whole lot of joy from the work I'm doing with fun clients and rad campaigns like this one. Keep an eye on Voda's IG as new babes are celebrated each week until Christmas. You might see a familiar face on there one of these days (it me).

SHOPPING

Anthro has had some really great dresses lately. I've got my eye on a few maxis, including this Corey Lynn Calter number. I'd be very happy to live in tiered long dresses all season long - just add a shacket if it's chills. Also loving this dress, and this one too.

ADMIRING

We just added a really bright bunch of new kantha quilts to the site this week - and although several of them flew out the door, we've still got a few showstoppers like this one. I love a kantha quilt for the fall. When it's not quite cold enough to add a blanket to the bed, these one-of-a-kind textiles are great to layer over a duvet for a fresh look, and a little added warmth. Check them all out here.

ZHUSHING

I enjoy this lil Scalamandre tiger lumbar pillow I added to a guest bed in Aspen.  Most of the things we've updated the house with are thrift store finds, but every now and then it's nice to zhush things up with a fancy moment here and there.  I did buy some basic brightly colored headboards on OKL, but the plaid euros and vintage wool blanket were both Habitat for Humanity scores!

DIGGING

Speaking of shackets, I am seriously into this trend for cold weather. Shacket = shirt + jacket.

I've had this photo pinned for years, evidently manifesting a moment when I could finally recreate the look. I found a cool plaid number at H&M, but there are great options everywhere right now, including this cool option on Etsy, this Asos one, and this fancier Isabel Marant version

CELEBRATING

As I'm finishing up this post tonight (it's Saturday), I am celebrating.  I am breathing, and feeling more at ease.  I am hopeful and I'm restored.  I think so many in the country, in the world actually, are sharing in these feeling of relief.  Democracy prevailed, goodness is gonna make it another day, and bless everyone who still follows Furbish on instagram and thinks there's a world where I would actually sell Trump ornaments because of 'fairness'.  What we do have are some sparkly new president Biden ornaments, and my fave, these Nasty Woman pillows, in honor of our very first female in the White House.  WHAT A TIME.
