WANTING
Oh the depths of my current real estate wants are staggering. I decided we need a home at the very sharkiest time of all to jump in Raleigh real estate, and I got bit. Lost some due diligence money, lost a house of dreams to a 100k+ over asking price, and then lost my nerve. So I'm now subscribing to the stay where you damn are camp, and I'm thinking how to make this kondo a home. We need another bedroom, and I'm very intrigued at this sort of half wall/glass situation I've seen a few places. It's a smart way to divvy up a studio and maintain the open and bright vibe. Glass seems like it could be a cool alternative to all sheetrock - but a much more expensive one. Yah never know until you ask, so I'm looking for the one contractor who doesn't have fiftyeleven jobs lined up who can help me. Hayulp!

ORDERING
I like to keep an eye on Clare V. because I think her branding is really great, and although I'm not a die-hard fangirl of the bags, I admire what she's doing. Her store on Elizabeth St. in NYC was one of the OG best instagram in the city - that inspo wall in the back left, it was legendary. Her and her design director do a cute little IGTV live each week "Le cute shop", and they're pretty funny ladies. I enjoyed this past week's show so much I went on over to the website after to browse around, and I found this cute jacket. Lurbe it. A lot.
WEARING
I just ordered two of these pretty lumbar pillows for our bed. I went to the local designer showroom here in Raleigh to search for a fabric that felt fancy for my bed. I feel like if you're only gonna make two pillows, and add them to an all white bed, they really need to steal the show, so I was ready to splurge - but I just couldn't find anything that sparked a particular joy. Interestingly enough, a browse through Etsy landed on these silky ikat covers, and my wallet definitely thanked me for my frugal (and fancy) find!

WATCHING
I've been terrible at TV lately. I have a few shows that I really like, and they take my full concreation when I'm watching -- but mindless have on the in the background stuff, I constantly strike out. Much of that is attributed to I don't know how to work the zillions of apps it takes to watch things now. I felt a longing for cable the other night after I tried to figure out how to watch SNL live for over an hour - and had to give up. But I do have Apple Tv, and it does work, and it offered me this show 'Trying' the other, which I am just thrilled with! It's a very cute British couple trying to adopt, and it reminds me a whole lot of another show I loved, Catastrophe.
READING
This book is fantastic. One of the reviews said it was a like a warm hug, and I can't agree more. It's essentially about a place between life and death that exists for people to review all of the possible outcome their life could have had if they'd made just one decision differently. The Midnight Library holds the story of each possible life you could live, and the main character goes through all of her regrets in her current life, only to find that her destiny was to appreciate the life she had. That's kinda meta, but believe me - it's a really happy read.

FOLLOWING
I was real tickled to stumble on NYC decorator Lily Bunn's IG account the other day. I feel like this isn't the first time she's been on my radar - that purple ikat chair in her feed is sort of burned in my brain, but i was nonetheless glad to be reacquainted. The snapshots she shares of current projects are very inspiring - I love a girl who's into all the colors, and Lily ain't skeered. Take a click over to her feed for more very chic eye-candy.
Try Platinum Homes. They did our kitchen and tile work and porch, and they’re lovely to work with. Not the cheapest, but not most expensive. The Raleigh real estate market is stupid these days.
Thank you!!
