POPPING UP
Tomorrow we're popping up at Furbish with Dorothy Collier who has just the coolest trick I've seen -- she makes these double happiness ginger jar Rorschach test-inspired paintings by applying paint to one side of the paper, folding in half and pressing (don't worry, the crease will flatten out with framing), and creating magic! We have 22 originals, and they are big! and affordable! Make sure to stop by the site at 12pm on Monday, 9/13th to snag a piece for yourself!

STAYING
I was in LA for a few days last week, and stayed at the Soho Warehouse, downtown. While I wouldn't recommend the exiled-feel of deep downtown, my stay at the warehouse was pretty rad. From the roof-top pool, to brunch on the patio, the tricked-out gym, and the life-changing french fries, I was setup for success. Also notent notables: the flat-bread pizza via room service, the dope bathroom amenities from Cowshed and the ultra-luxe bed setup with the perfect amount of pillows.
WATCHING
Binged through this Netflix series quickfast this past weekend. Although a bit staid, due to the subject matter (an Ivy-league English dept. run by elderly white folks), the content was poignant, the soundtrack was awesome, and Sandra O was a treat to watch onscreen. A short and sweet series that's easy to watch and full of feel-good-feelings.

PLANNING
Believe it or not, Christmas in the retail world starts promptly in January. This year, we had our orders placed, our products designed, and our vibe lined up the first few weeks of 2021. Last holiday was bonkers at Furb, so we've decided to release some of the goods a bit early this year, and call me crazy, but they're already selling out! I think when times are tough (bummer that they STILL are 18 months later, right?), people need a little Christmas cheer whenever they can get it, so our customers aren't skeered to start stocking up now. One of my faves is this cute needlepoint, "the most wonderful time of the year". The pillows are still on pre-order, but the ornaments are shipping out of our warehouse now! 🤯
READING
Rereading an old fave this week, the Beautiful and the Damned by Fitzgerald. I've cycled through a lot of (enjoyable) crap recently, so it was nice to have at least a little challenge with Fitz' sophisticated style. One of my all-time fave literary quotes comes from this novel. Gloria grants us with this nugget: "I want to just be lazy and I want some of the people around me to be doing things, because that makes me feel comfortable and safe - and I want some of them to be doing nothing at all, because they can be graceful and companionable for me."

WEARING
I had to run into Target and this cute quilted short sleeve sweatshirt caught my eye. They didn't have my size in store, so I ordered the white - just couldn't help myself it was so cute. I'm in Colorado this week, but pray when I get back to NC the temps will cooperate so I can wear it!
