New haus is all about to go down – and I couldn’t be more ready. It’s been 16 months in the making, but move-in day is slated for the end of this month. Here are 7 purchases I’m looking forward to unboxing and incorporating into my brand-new haus lifestyle.
– The vibe for the new house is mid-century modern with a touch of Kyoto (the og owners built the house after living in Japan for a few years). I built a big deck on the front of the house, with a door from the main bedroom that ensures morning transit time to sunlight is less than 1 second. I scooped my #goals furniture for the front during DWR’s July 4th sale, so I’m ready to leisure in the light.
– Trying a new thang in the bathrooms – making a statement with Flamingo Estate’ handwash in this purty green bottle
– Snagged these sconces for the bedroom on Etsy, and had them custom-made in chrome. I was very pleased with the turnaround time and quality – they’re great
– Literally a year ago, my first purchase was this CB2 sofa for the loungey living room. It’s the leather trim on the velvet cushions for me.
– Going to wallpaper the WC in this Chasing Paper print. Iconic NYC buildings. I feel like tiny spaces like a water closet should have major eye-candy to examine while you’re in there. This should do the trick, and it’s a cool compliment to the Schumacher Rolling Hills print that’s in the adjoining bathroom
– Vincent is basically a sumo wrestler, so we’re upgrading from his counter seat to a new Stokke Tripp Trapp chair. I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews, and I think it will be fun to have him at the table with us, rather than his usual reservation for one at the kitchen island.
– Another summer sale score, I actualized a long-running want/need and bought this Dolly print, in the large size (over 3′ tall!) framed in white. I think she’ll live in the bedroom, and I’m super stoked about it.
